HARMONISING MATERIAL MASTER DATA
IN A NEW SAP ENVIRONMENT

The objective of this project was to develop uniform, cross-regional business processes and to design an IT environment based on this framework. This incorporated the use of the SAP ERP system as the corporate template and of its planning and reporting tool.

Harmonised master data management

Within the framework of this project, the master data department was responsible for providing and distributing the relevant master data objects (material, business partners, conditions, purchasing data records, organisational data and key objects). The aim was to harmonise the management of master data across all regions and to define a cross-department management process.

The master data management team had been charged with the task of coming up with a concept for defining and standardising data formats, data attributes and key systems in order to support processes and the flow of information throughout the region. ISAC Consulting was responsible for analysing existing interfaces and describing the processes involved in material master data management (creating, modifying, deleting, archiving).

The material master process document formed the basis for transferring the relevant material master data processes to the reference process house.
